The Monster Hunter Wilds beta is back with thrilling new challenges, and players are buzzing about a formidable new adversary: Arkveld. This fearsome beast has sparked both excitement and trepidation among the hunting community.

Arkveld takes the spotlight as the flagship monster for Monster Hunter Wilds, gracing the game's cover and promising a central role in the adventure. In the latest beta test, daring hunters can take on the Chained Arkveld within a 20-minute time limit and a cap of five "faints."

As players dive into the challenge, they quickly learn that Arkveld is no easy target. This massive winged creature is armed with electrified chains that extend from its arms, enabling it to unleash thunderous attacks that electrify the air. Despite its size, Arkveld moves with surprising agility.

Even seasoned hunters find themselves frequently carted away by Arkveld's powerful assaults. The monster's innovative use of its whips not only allows it to navigate the battlefield but also to deliver devastating long-range strikes. One particularly awe-inspiring move sees Arkveld grabbing a hunter, roaring menacingly, and then slamming them to the ground, leaving players in awe and fear.

Arkveld's presence is so disruptive that it even interrupts hunters during their meals, as hilariously captured in a video shared on the r/MHWilds subreddit. Clearly, the wilds are no place for a peaceful lunch break.

The battle with Arkveld is not only visually stunning but also intensely challenging, pushing the limits of hunters' skills. While the difficulty might intimidate some, the Monster Hunter community thrives on such challenges. The thrill of conquering a dangerous beast like Arkveld, especially one that's the game's flagship, is a testament to the series' core appeal. The "Chained" designation and Arkveld's status have sparked speculation about a potentially even more daunting "Unchained" version awaiting in the full game.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test 2 is scheduled for February 6 through 9, and February 13 through 16. During this period, players can engage with both Arkveld and the returning monster Gypceros, along with exploring new features like the Training Area and Private Lobbies.
