A Sony property is making waves in a Microsoft game as Sea of Thieves introduces new cosmetics inspired by the world of Destiny 2, bringing the epic battle against the Darkness to the high seas. This exciting crossover features the Lightbearer cosmetics set, which includes new flags, ship cosmetics, a costume set, and more. The trailer for these new items showcases various Destiny references, from the Drifter's outfit to a ghost adorning the front of a ship. Players can explore a variety of Destiny-themed options at the Pirate Emporium to customize their ships and sailors.

PlayLast year, Sea of Thieves expanded to PlayStation, marking one of several Microsoft properties that have made the leap to Sony's console. Destiny, on the other hand, has been available on Xbox and continued its presence there even after Bungie's acquisition by Sony. While this crossover might blur the lines between consoles, it adds a delightful twist to Sea of Thieves, with the Drifter's outfit fitting seamlessly into the game's pirate-themed world.

With the launch of Season 15, Sea of Thieves has introduced new encounters, voyages, and content, enhancing the ongoing piracy experience. Rare's game has not only stayed afloat but thrived, notably achieving success on the PlayStation 5 and topping an EU sales chart upon its release on the platform.

Meanwhile, Destiny 2 has rolled out Heresy and is navigating its path forward after the narrative climax in The Final Shape. The space-faring shooter has also engaged in recent crossovers, notably with Star Wars.

Both Sea of Thieves and Destiny 2 have successfully navigated the dynamic landscape of live-service gaming, making this crossover a fascinating collaboration. The Destiny 2-themed cosmetics are now available in Sea of Thieves, though it's uncertain whether Destiny 2 will see any Sea of Thieves content in return. In this writer's opinion, a giant pirate ship in space would be an epic addition. Just a thought.
