Master Strike Guide: Acquiring and Utilizing in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The melee combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be quite challenging, especially in the early stages as you're still mastering the mechanics. However, there's a game-changing move that can significantly ease your battles: the Master Strike. Here's a detailed guide on how to learn and effectively use the Master Strike in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.

Learning the Master Strike in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To unlock the Master Strike, Henry must first complete the tutorial and gain the freedom to explore the open world. Your next step is to speak with Bara the beggar in Troskowitz. She will mention an NPC named Tomcat, which will trigger the Combat Training side quest.

You can find Tomcat at the Nomads’ Camp, located near the Cumans’ Camp and close to Bozhena’s Hut. Initiate the quest by speaking to him, starting with Combat Training I, which is relatively straightforward. After completing it, save your game and then talk to Tomcat again to begin Combat Training II, a more demanding challenge.

To learn the Master Strike, you must successfully complete Combat Training II and defeat Tomcat in a swordfight. It's advisable to level up your Strength stat before attempting this, as failing the quest can leave Henry in a dire state. Always save your game before each attempt to avoid setbacks.

Upon defeating Tomcat in Combat Training II, Henry will be taught the Master Strike, ready to be used in combat.

How to Use Master Strike

The Master Strike is exclusive to swords and cannot be used with other weapon types. During combat, observe your opponent's weapon position and hold your sword in the opposite direction. For example, if your opponent attacks from the left, position your sword to the right.

As your opponent initiates their attack, a green shield icon will appear on the screen. At this moment, press the attack button, and Henry will execute the Master Strike. This move allows him to parry the incoming attack and immediately counter with an unblockable strike. Timing is crucial; ensure your sword is correctly positioned opposite to your opponent's weapon when you press the attack button.

Mastering the Master Strike can drastically simplify most combat encounters in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, making it one of the most potent moves in your arsenal.

That's everything you need to know about learning and using the Master Strike in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. For more tips and insights on the game, including how to handle the Wandering Drunk and exploring all romance options, be sure to check out The Escapist.
