Get ready for electrifying changes in Marvel Rivals Season 2! NetEase is revamping team-up skills and introducing stunning new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man. Let's dive into the exciting updates.
Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen revealed significant changes to team-up skills in an interview with PC Gamer on March 14th. He stated, "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. This, combined with overall balance adjustments, will create a fresh combat experience."
Currently, the game boasts 17 team-up skills, including Ragnarok Rebirth, Lunar Force, and Allied Agents. Balancing these skills with the growing roster will be a significant challenge for NetEase.
Chen detailed the team's approach to hero balancing: "We closely monitor key metrics across Quick Match and Competitive Modes, analyzing win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, and more. This data, along with analysis of hero lineup compositions and community feedback, guides our balancing decisions."
With a new hero planned for each half of the three-month season (eight heroes annually), maintaining balance will be an ongoing process. Chen confirmed that Season 2 content is ready, with Seasons 3 and 4 already in development, reaffirming NetEase's commitment to the game's long-term support (10+ years).
NetEase announced via Twitter (X) on March 18th the arrival of new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man on March 20th at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21st at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man's "Spider-Punk 2099" skin features a futuristic look with a digital mask and spiked mohawk, while Iron Man's "Steam Power" skin boasts a steampunk aesthetic. These skins, previously seen in the closed beta, join Loki's Presidential attire in making the jump to the live game. Pricing details have yet to be revealed.
