While Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered prioritizes action gameplay, it also offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. You can tailor outfits for stealth, melee combat, or ranged attacks. However, wouldn't it be great to combine the benefits of multiple outfits? It's possible, though with some limitations. This guide explains how.
The ability to combine outfit effects is exclusive to *Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered*. A recent patch added a transmog feature, letting you retain one outfit's stats while visually wearing another. No more sacrificing style for effectiveness!
This technique isn't universal. While your primary outfit can be any you prefer, the second *must* be one of these three:
Note: These outfits are located in the Frozen Wilds DLC area, accessible without completing the main game.
Reach the Frozen Wilds expansion area (defeat the initial machine if needed; adjust difficulty or upgrade your gear if necessary). Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
For the Banuk Werak Chieftain (the superior option), complete the "For the Werak" quest (the third main quest in Frozen Wilds DLC). This mission is challenging; consider lowering the difficulty to Story mode if needed. The Adept version is acquired the same way, but only in New Game Plus.
First, equip your desired outfit (the one with the stats you want; enhance stats with Weaves if needed). Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these outfits don't provide extra stats, they offer automatic healing after taking damage.
This allows you to retain your preferred outfit's stats while gaining the auto-heal perk. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer faster healing than the Runner.
