Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A recent Bandai Namco trailer showcases the gameplay and significant improvements in Freedom Wars Remastered. This action RPG boasts enhanced visuals, refined game mechanics, and a host of new features. Prepare for battles against mechanical creatures, gear upgrades, and challenging missions within a bleak, dystopian world. Launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

The game's core loop remains familiar: players, known as Sinners, battle colossal mechanical adversaries called Abductors, collect their components, and upgrade their equipment for increasingly powerful attacks. This gameplay, reminiscent of Monster Hunter, unfolds across diverse missions, from citizen rescues to strategic control point captures, playable solo or cooperatively online. The setting, a resource-depleted dystopia, provides a stark backdrop for these thrilling encounters.

The trailer highlights several key enhancements in Freedom Wars Remastered. Visual fidelity receives a substantial boost, reaching 4K resolution (2160p) at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC, while PS4 offers 1080p at 60 FPS and the Switch version runs at 1080p, 30 FPS. Gameplay is significantly faster-paced, thanks to streamlined mechanics, increased movement speed, and enhanced attack cancellation capabilities.

Crafting and upgrading have been completely revamped. A more intuitive interface and the ability to freely attach and detach modules streamline the process. A new module synthesis feature allows players to upgrade modules using resources obtained from rescued citizens. For seasoned players, a challenging "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode awaits. Furthermore, all customization DLC from the original PS Vita release is included from the outset.
