Charlie Cox's portrayal of Daredevil has successfully transitioned from Netflix to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sparking speculation about potential comebacks for other characters from the Netflix series, The Defenders. Finn Jones, who played Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, in the second season of the Iron Fist series and in The Defenders, has expressed his readiness to return to the role. Jones last portrayed Iron Fist in 2018, teaming up with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) in The Defenders.
Despite a mixed reception to Jones' portrayal of Iron Fist, which was less favorable compared to other Defenders characters, the successful reintegration of Daredevil into the MCU has fueled hopes for the revival of The Defenders. Recent reports suggest that Marvel is exploring the possibility of bringing back the team.
At the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticism of his performance, showing an understanding of the fans' sentiments. He stated, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen... There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."
Daredevil: Born Again continues the story from the Netflix series, which was part of a smaller-scale Marvel universe that included shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These series, along with the broader Defenders narrative, are now officially part of the MCU canon, available on Disney+. Additionally, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, previously exclusive to Netflix, also features in Daredevil: Born Again.
