Conquering a level in the cooperative game R.E.P.O. is a significant achievement. Upon reaching the Service Station after victory, you can purchase various weapons and upgrades, including valuable Energy Crystals. Here's a breakdown of their function and how to acquire more.
These shiny yellow crystals, found at the Service Station after completing the first level, cost between $7,000 and $9,000. Early in the game, when difficulty is lower, they're typically cheaper, offering an opportunity to stock up if you had a successful initial run.
Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container/Station to your R.E.P.O. truck. This is a game-changer, allowing you to recharge tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker by simply placing them inside. This saves money on replacements and significantly reduces costs in the long run. Place your item in the bin next to the container (marked with a yellow lightning bolt) to begin recharging, preparing you for the next Clown, Gnome, or Shadow Child encounter.
Crystals automatically appear in the container upon purchase. However, they have a limited lifespan and will deplete with use, requiring replacement to maintain the container's functionality. Approximately one crystal refills four battery sections of an item, with six crystals fully charging the Energy Container.
Crystals are exclusively purchased at the Service Station, but can be expensive. To ensure you have enough funds, diligently collect valuables throughout each level. Reaching the Service Station requires successfully completing a level with sufficient funds; the Taxman will then transport you.
In challenging levels, prioritize escaping with enough money to clear the level rather than risking losing valuables and potentially more.
This covers the function of Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O. and how to obtain them.
