A new entry in the Digimon video game series, titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, has seemingly been leaked through GameStop listings ahead of tonight’s PlayStation State of Play presentation. The leak was brought to light by Gematsu, which shared store links for pre-ordering the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Although the GameStop pages lack images or gameplay details, the sudden appearance of these listings hints at an imminent official announcement.
This leak comes just hours before Sony’s latest State of Play presentation, which is set to feature 40 minutes of content. While Sony has kept the details under wraps, the timing and the appearance of Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-order options suggest that fans might see the digital monster series featured during the event.
The Digimon Story series has a rich history, starting with the original Digimon Story for the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Since then, numerous titles have been released across various platforms, including 2015’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and 2017’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory. In 2019, a Complete Edition bundled both Cyber Sleuth games, offering fans a comprehensive experience.
In these games, players are transported into the Digimon universe, where they befriend and battle with digital monsters in RPG-style gameplay. Although franchise producer Kazumashu Habu teased a new Story game in 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting a fresh installment. While games like Digimon Survive have helped bridge the gap, the potential reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger could mark the end of a long wait for a true continuation of the series.
