Infinity Nikki: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Open-World Fashion Adventure

A new behind-the-scenes documentary reveals the journey behind Infinity Nikki, the highly anticipated open-world fashion game launching December 4th (EST/PST) on PC, PlayStation, and mobile. This 25-minute video showcases the years of dedication and passion poured into the project by its talented team.

The project began in December 2019, shrouded in secrecy, with a dedicated team working in a separate office. Over a year was spent building the foundation and infrastructure before expanding the team.

Game designer Sha Dingyu highlights the unique challenge of merging the established Nikki dress-up game mechanics with an open-world environment, a process that required building a completely new framework. This marks the fifth installment in the Nikki series, a significant leap from its mobile origins. The team’s commitment is evident, even extending to the producer crafting a clay model of the Grand Millewish Tree to visualize the game world.

The documentary provides glimpses of the stunning Miraland, focusing on the mystical Grand Millewish Tree and its inhabitants. Game designer Xiao Li emphasizes the dynamic nature of the NPCs, who maintain their routines even during gameplay, adding depth and realism to the world.

A World-Class Team

The game’s impressive visuals are a testament to the team's expertise. In addition to the core Nikki team, Infinity Nikki boasts international talent, including Lead Sub Director Kentaro “Tomiken” Tominaga (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) and concept artist Andrzej Dybowski (The Witcher 3).

From its inception on December 28th, 2019, to its launch on December 4th, 2024, the team dedicated over 1814 days to bringing Infinity Nikki to life. Prepare to explore Miraland with Nikki and Momo this December!
