Crafting and Using Gems in Dynasty Warriors: Origins: A Guide

In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, enhancing your character's strength is crucial, and one effective method is through the use of Gems. These gems provide passive buffs that can significantly boost your performance, especially on higher difficulty levels. You can craft new gems and level up existing ones, although the process can seem somewhat random. Below, you'll find detailed instructions on how to craft and utilize gems, as well as tips on increasing your chances of obtaining the specific gems you desire.

How To Craft & Level Up Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Gem crafting in Dynasty Warriors: Origins utilizes Pyroxene and can be accessed at any Inn or tent within the game. Once in your room, select the second option from the top labeled "Create Gems." Here, you can use Pyroxene to craft gems at a one-to-one ratio. There are five distinct gems that can be crafted, with each Pyroxene having an equal chance of producing any of these five.

Upon crafting a base gem, it starts at level 1 and can be equipped via the Battle Preparations menu. Subsequent crafts of the same type of gem will contribute XP to the base gem, enhancing its level and potency with each upgrade. If you're not particular about which gems you get, you can use all your Pyroxene at once to craft multiple gems and level them up randomly across the board.

For those who seek specific gems, there's a feature called "Eyes of the Sacred Bird." This activates randomly when crafting a single gem, limiting the possible outcomes to three specific gems for all Pyroxene used. If "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" doesn't favor the gem you want, you can exit and re-enter the crafting menu to cancel this effect. Crafting one gem at a time can be time-consuming, but it's a strategy to potentially trigger "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for the gem you're targeting.

While "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" helps manage the randomness of gem crafting, it doesn't eliminate it entirely.

Here's a list of the five gems you can craft along with their passive boosts:

Gem NamePassive Boost
Oblivion GemExpands attack range.
Vortex GemBoosts damage to enemies launched into the air.
Scorch GemBoosts damage dealt to enemies with parries.
Wellspring GemRestores health for every 100 enemies defeated.
Ascendance GemActivates a chance to automatically block an attack from an enemy officer.

Where To Get Pyroxene In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Pyroxene, essential for gem crafting, can be found scattered across the overworld as orange crystals protruding from the ground. Interacting with these crystals will yield one Pyroxene and cause the crystal to vanish. After completing Skirmishes or Battles, some Pyroxene will respawn on the overworld map, encouraging you to revisit and explore previously cleared areas. Additionally, you might occasionally receive Pyroxene through letters, which you can read in your room at an Inn or tent.
