Starting today, Dell is offering an incredible deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the powerful new GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, priced at just $2,399.99 with free shipping. This is a standout offer, particularly when considering the upward pricing trend seen with other RTX 50 series prebuilt systems since their launch in January. At Dell, the next cheapest option with an RTX 5080 GPU starts at over $4,000. For those considering a DIY build, securing a standalone RTX 5080 GPU might cost nearly as much as this fully assembled system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC comes loaded with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, part of the Meteor Lake series, features a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, 20 cores, and a 30MB cache. It's efficiently cooled by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler and powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.
The RTX 5080 is one of the new Blackwell graphics cards, which have been notoriously hard to find. According to our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review by Jackie, "If you're already equipped with a high-end graphics card from recent years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be a game-changer due to its modest performance gain over the RTX 4080. However, the additional frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation can enhance visuals in supported games. For gamers upgrading from older GPUs seeking a significant performance boost, the RTX 5080 is a fantastic choice, especially if you're keen on Nvidia's AI enhancements."

Dell unveiled the updated Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. While maintaining a similar appearance to the 2024 R16 model, it features minor aesthetic and cooling redesigns along with updated components. The I/O panel is now located at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Instead, air intakes are placed at the bottom and front of the case to promote a positive airflow design, which helps maintain a cleaner interior. The internal components have been refreshed, including a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.
The initial release of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards, including the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, sold out within the first hour of preorders. The RTX 5070 Ti followed in February, but all models remain elusive. Similarly, prebuilt gaming PCs featuring these GPUs are either sold out, experiencing price hikes, or facing extended delivery delays.
