Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku and crave some friendly competition? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you face off against other players or teams. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all numbers from 1 to 9.

Before diving in, you can adjust the difficulty (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest) in the game options. This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone starts with the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, selectable in the options:

• "Show correct numbers of your opponent": Each correctly placed number is visible to all players, earning points for the first player to place it. You can't use a number already placed by someone else.
• "Hide correct numbers": Players only see their own grid. Multiple players can earn points for the same correct number.

Time-Outs and Scoring:

Incorrect numbers result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable in options), preventing the player from making moves while others continue. Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct number. Incorrect numbers deduct half the points earned for a correct placement.

Winning the Game:

The game concludes when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. If "Show correct numbers" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves it, though this doesn't grant extra points – other players can still win by having fewer incorrect entries.

Team Play:

Team play allows two teams to compete. Choose your team (1 or 2) upon joining. At least two players per team are required. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/colors are shared among teammates, facilitating collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle offers helpful tools:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares. Selecting a number already present in a square removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
