"Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Halves Charging Time"

Charging times for the new Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller have been significantly improved, taking nearly half the time compared to the original model. As reported by Nintendo Life, Nintendo recently disclosed the tech specs for the updated $84.99 Switch 2 Pro Controller, which now charges in about three and a half hours when using the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter or the USB-C charging cable. This is a substantial reduction from the six hours required for the original Pro Controller.

The good news continues with the battery life: the Switch 2 Pro Controller maintains the impressive 40-hour battery life of its predecessor. Additionally, the new controller introduces the C button, along with two extra GL/GR buttons on the underside, and is designed to be slightly lighter and smaller than the original.

Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 during a 60-minute Nintendo Direct earlier this month. Pre-orders, initially scheduled to open in early April in the U.S., were delayed due to tariff-related uncertainties, with the new pre-order date set for April 24. Despite the delay, Nintendo has maintained the $449.99 price point for the Switch 2 console and its games, although they've increased prices on most Switch 2 accessories, including the Switch 2 Pro Controller, which now costs $85, up from $80.
