How to Romance Characters in Fields of Mistria
In Fields of Mistria, you can befriend nearly every character, but romance is exclusive to 11 NPCs as of the v0.13.0 update, including Caldarus. Choose your romantic interest wisely to start building a deeper connection.
Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that grows based on your interactions. To spark a romance, engage with them often and pay close attention to their preferences and dislikes to strengthen your bond.
Start by chatting with them daily, which fits easily into your routine around town. Small talk adds up. Also, tackle their requests posted on the town board to unlock more chances to boost their heart meter.
You can also give them one gift per day, choosing items they like or love. These gifts vary by character and can be foraged or crafted. On their birthday, present a beloved item to significantly increase their heart meter.
Currently, NPC heart meters max out at six hearts. After reaching this level, a cutscene hints at a budding romance, though it’s not fully developed yet.
The game’s roadmap promises 8 and 10-heart events for romanceable NPCs, along with future marriage and family options. Your romantic journey in Mistria is just getting started.

Juniper, a romanceable character, often searches for rare witchcraft ingredients. When not exploring, she runs the bathhouse in the town’s northeast corner.
To romance Juniper, visit her regularly, complete her town board requests, and offer daily gifts to steadily build her affection.
Juniper has specific items she “likes” and “loves” for gifting. Her birthday falls on the 26th of Fall, so bring a “loved” item that day for an extra heart boost.
Avoid giving Juniper universal disliked items or Sod, as these will not help your relationship progress.
